Brief introduction of silver tungsten alloyBrief introduction of silver tungsten alloy

Silver tungsten is a pseudo alloy composed of silver and tungsten. Silver tungsten is a metal matrix composite. Due to the high melting point of tungsten, it cannot melt with silver. Instead of the conventional preparation method, the preparation method of silver tungsten is powder metallurgy.

The silver tungsten production process includes component mixing, pressing, sintering melt penetration and cold working. Silver tungsten combines the advantages of metal tungsten and silver. Tungsten has a high melting point (tungsten melting point of 3410 ° C) and a large density (tungsten density of 19.34 g / cm 3 ), and silver has excellent electrical conductivity. Silver tungsten (component range WCu7 ~ WCu50) has a uniform microstructure, high temperature resistance, high strength and high density.

Silver tungsten is also characterized by their high strength and resistance to soldering or sticking. They are primarily made by infiltration and the nominal silver content varies between 20-50%. By increasing the amount of tungsten, hardness and soldering are reduced. The composite alloy group is particularly preferably used in air.

Silver tungsten materials are used in industrial and household circuit breaker applications where good soldering and corrosion resistance are important. Available in a variety of grades: - Higher grades of silver have higher electrical conductivity and higher grades of tungsten have greater erosion and solder resistance.
